Comments: Take Hwy 78 to Ocotillo Wells near east edge of Anza Borrego State Park. Turn South on Split Mountain road, about 8.6 miles to Fish Creek Wash. Turn right into Fish Creek and proceed upward. This trail starts westward, and curves south. Notice the geology of the canyon walls along this stretch. After about 4.25 miles, the road curves westward again. At this point, watch for a trail on the left where you can take a 20 minute hike up to see the wind caves. Continue west another 7.5 miles to Sandstone Canyon. This is a `slot canyon` with very high walls. Your car might be able to sqeeze through, if you dont mind some body damage. My truck was too wide to get through. You might want to park and walk in anyway, its an interesting place.
